How We Process Personal Data¶
Workstars uses your personal data including your use of the Service to fulfil our contract with your employer and to operate and make the Service available to you, identify and authenticate you, to contact you about your use of the Service, for research purposes and to generally improve the content, functionality and security of the platform and the Service.
Our clients (your Employer) are the controller of your data and are responsible for providing notice to you concerning the information they collect and share with Workstars as part of the use of our Service.
Workstars operate as a data processor under contract with your employer (or as a sub-processor on behalf of one of our resellers) inline with the terms of the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you have any questions regarding your data, you should discuss them with your HR Department. However, you may also contact our Data Protection Officer at email@example.com.
The Information We Process¶
Information your employer provides¶
When your employer registers for the Service, they send us a first and last name, company name, department, job title, role, manager, email or postal address, start date and employee ID. After the initial registration, Workstars may collect additional information directly from you to enable us to fulfill our obligations (e.g. month/year of birth for anniversaries, delivery address for a redemption, etc.); however, Workstars never directly collects any end user information, personal or otherwise, without the explicit direction of your employer.
We also use third party tracking tools that employ a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/ Web Bugs), to help us better manage content on our site by informing us what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the movements of the visitors to our portal. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on Web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. We tie the information gathered by clear gifs to our users and clients in order to optimize and enhance the portal and Service experience.
As is true of most websites, we and our third party utility-tracking partners gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp and click stream data.
We use Local Storage, such as HTML5, to store content information and preferences. Various browsers may offer their own management tools for removing HTML5 Local Storage.
Analytics & Marketing¶
Workstars uses analytics to only analyse the usage of our platform for the purpose of improving our Service. We do not mine your data for advertising purposes or share it with anyone.
If you do not provide the listed personal data to us, you will not be able to use our Service.
Recipients of the Personal Data¶
We share personal data with the following categories of recipients:

- Analytics software providers
- Customer support software providers

- Card providers
- Voucher providers
- Merchandise providers
A list of our current subprocessors and a copy of the respective safeguards is available to our clients on request.
Protecting Your Information¶
Workstars maintains reasonable security measures to protect your information from loss, destruction, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure. These technologies help ensure that your data is safe, secure, and only available to you and to those you provided authorized access. When you enter sensitive information (such as your login information) on our portal or connect to our Service, we encrypt the transmission of that information using Transport Layer Security (TLS). We retain your personal data as long as it is necessary to provide our Service and upon termination all data is deleted at the request of your employer. We might continue to process your personal data if it is necessary because of legal requirements or decisions made by authorities.
If you would like to exercise any of your rights, or receive more information about them, please contact your HR Department as they are the controller of the data. Please note that some of the following rights may not be applicable to your situation:
Right of access¶
You have the right to gain access to information about the personal data that we process about you. Should you have any questions regarding the processing or want more insight into the personal data we process from you, you are always welcome to contact us and we will provide you with further information.
Right to rectification¶
You can request us to correct information inaccurately stored by us without undue delay. You also have the right to have incomplete personal data completed, including by means of providing a supplementary statement.
Right to erasure/right to be forgotten¶
You have the right to request of us to permanently delete your personal information. You can make such a request if you for example believe that the personal data are no longer necessary in relation to the purpose for which the personal data were collected or otherwise processed.
Right to restrict the processing activities¶
You have the right to restrict our processing activities. If you choose to restrict our processing activities regarding certain personal data, note that you may not be able to use our portal properly.

Notification of Changes to This Policy¶
Workstars may update this Policy from time to time. If we make any material changes we will notify your employer by email or by means of a notice on this portal prior to the change becoming effective.
